I have been holding and following for a long time and I also think that Rod may have done a great job to get GMEL this far but may have been a bit 'loose' to take it to the next level.
I am seeing this as positive news of a structured change rather than a panic reaction to something. Everyone can get emotional but the incident on HotCopper last year was an indication of Rod's temperament and didn't portray the professionalism and restraint that is now required for this company and project to get into the latter stages.
We can only hope for further good news to come thick and fast towards the end of this year, early next year.
