sure sam :  " taming the lion" - Richard Farleigh for trading by far the best I've read
................... - one recommended by "mower", the name and author I cannot remember at the moment was about the mental attitude side to it all and it was very good "in the zone" I think was the title
....................- technical analysis - there are  hundreds of books out there, maybe someone who can suggest a good one.

if you want to look at "fundamental analysis" let me know

some very simple rules to start with :

stocks generally move in trends - so always trade with the trend
(I put a two month trading band) on a stock or indice to give an indication of trend, however the length of time for the trading band may need to be changed to suit..... prices will often oscilate  within that trading band..... when a stock moves above or below that trading band that is an indication of a possible / probable change in trend.....

sentiment indicators - volume, or change in volume / market depth or change in market depth can be an indicator for sentiment or change  in sentiment ..... the buy sell ratio can often be misleading with regard demand for a stock because it does not include the orders brokers have in their order book, but change in market depth from day to day is a better indicator

Their's lots and lots of indicators on a charting program, I suggest you play with them

charting package - I think a trader needs a charting package.....  some are happy with end of day feed which costs little. I have got a live data feed from paratech which costs ...... their pulse charting program also comes with that..... in addition I have market analyst charting program..... anther popular one seems to be bullcharts

sam - they are my thoughts only, but are generally mainstream thinking ...... others will have different approaches that work for them.....

keep in touch and lets know what you have learnt.....

    cheers gk.
