Boy oh boy, everyone's getting a little over excited here. I posted this for information purposes only, spendit made a joke, and now the thread is turning into a bash fest. I posted purely because I found it interesting that a reagent company (who provides the majority of shRNA/siRNA tools, and is a licensee of BLTs) has grown so rapidly and is now so successful that BigPharma have taken it over for $US17b. Just wait until shRNA/siRNA becomes mainstream in human therapeutics and see how much it is worth.

KSS can write whatever he wants. He is clearly right with some of his assessment of BLT and clearly wrong about other points because he is not privy to the information. Who cares if others follow his advice. He is still long BLT because he believes in the science but hates management because they dared to correct him on a public forum. KSS has a god complex and will not be questioned without going into a major hissyfit.

The fact of the matter is that gene therapy and RNAi are taking a lot longer than everyone expected to get through the clinic because of the much more complicated processes and increased safety measures. Management are certainly not perfect and constantly disappoint shareholders because they underestimated their timeframes (which drives me crazy), but they are not behind other gene therapy companies in terms of progress through the clinic.
