Professor Richard Lindzen stated that the majority of the warming effect had already taken place and the effect of doubling CO2 from 400ppm to 800ppm would likely increase the temperature by 0.7 degrees celsius.
At the current rate of increase it will take 200 years to double CO2, we will be out of fossil fuels long before that.
