bigal - i remember reading your posts and i luckily sold quite a few up in the 1.60s - not just because of your call, as i had a hunch about oil prices and i had too many oilies

I havent done the numbers lately , but i did a couple years ago when gas prices were cheaper and even then i thought gas was very important to them -over 50% ? cant remember but it was very significant1

anyway, going forward, gas will be a bigger influence on them in financial terms, although sentimentally they will be labelled oil!

weak currency will help with oil prices and low cost of production (oil not so sure on gas!)-plenty to like - they would have also been hit by overseas insto selling due to currency weakness fears (borne out to date)

was actually going to buy some bhp but (unless playing with options) i suspect bpt may be more likely to regain the 1.73's than bhp to get over $42 again soon i.e app 25%
