The head of diversified media company News Corp (ASX:NWS) Rupert Murdoch has refuted all claims of tax avoidance in Australia.The defence came after an investigation yesterday revealed taxes paid by ASX top 200 companies.United Voice and the Tax Justice Network Australia showed 29 per cent of companies have an effective corporate tax rate of 10 per cent or less.News Corp’s spin-off Twenty-First Century Fox, listed on the ASX until March 2014, was ranked the top tax avoider.Rupert Murdoch took to twitter to voice his opinion, claiming “NO tax avoidance by News, Fox or any Murdochs in Australia. Courts ruled, so move on!”.News Corp reported a net profit of $312 million in the full 2014 financial year.
