Diligent, so just how do you feel about people hiding their faces beneath hoodies, balaclavas, masks, ridiculous large glasses, actors wearing face paint and so on? Why take women of Muslim faith exercising their democratic right to dress as they wish to account while ignoring those who deliberately cover up for other, unexplained reasons?
This is a classic example of a stupid, inept, self-serving and non-secular government unnecessarily interfering in the lives of its people. Generically requiring ALL people to reveal their faces in sensitive public places is very different to 'banning the burqa' and Tony Abbott knows it but has nevertheless chosen to exploit community tensions for his own political ends.
