Benbradley, my teaching career required personal interaction with all members of Australian society. Consequently I do not fear others, rather I respect and value them for who they are and in return have enjoyed their support, cooperation and respect.
Before dismissing me as stubborn and foolish you should have recalled earlier comments I've made about the effectiveness of our criminal justice system. It's a shocker that is increasingly subject to political interference and continues to fail Australians miserably. That partially explains my call for Australia to develop a new Constitution.
If Tony Abbott was fair dinkum he'd already have funded best practice computer systems for our police and security forces. He'd have moved to radically overhaul our inept and unaccountable 'judicial systems'. Until such things happen criminals will continue to run rings around those working hard to protect us from threats such as ICE on our streets, the gambling mafia and atrocities from the likes of Ivan Milat, Julian Knight and Derek Percy.
I hope that helps you to understand why I'm relatively unconcerned about women of Muslim faith wearing burqas and appalled by Tony Abbott's malicious outbursts against them doing so.
