And yes it could have big ramifications.. However the Antarctic Ice area has increased. So obviously uptake has occurred elsewhere. Not fussed on why uptake has happened but more that the real reason of the melt is being ignored by warmist. This has been known since 2010 and further information just recently that the West is sitting on a geothermal bed that has come to life.

The record sea ice is basically caused by extra wind chill effects from cyclonic wind systems. The ocean around Antarctica is still warming and ice is increasingly being lost from the mainland, I suggest not taking science lessons from Rupert journo's.
