The only saving grace with Ebola is you have to have close contact with the person who has Ebola and it is not readily transmittable via the air which a lot of other diseases are. In Australia diseases like Tuberculosis are still rampant in places like Cape York at the top end of QLD. I contracted TB up there years ago when I stopped to pick up an old black buy walking down to the wharf to go fishing one morning, he coughed all over me then told me he had TB. I got the disease some time later but it only lasted a couple of weeks and I was ok, no medication necessary. In Australia we have a much better diet so a lot of diseases don't get a roll on like they would in some places in Africa.
Everybody needs to be vigilant with Ebola though, especially in Qld as there are a lot of Bats present in some big regional areas in Qld and I mean they are in the city. Ebola is spread through the bat population along with Equine Influenza which is another deadly disease in QLD and is still current.
