They haven't taken anybody for a ride. Akk management did say they where going for debt finance to facilitate the next step of growth. Unfortunately you should have realised months ago that pathfinder is a drag on cash flow and finance would be hard to obtain because of it. The finance deal no doubt looks to have some component in it for a cap raise for company costs and getting pathfinder going, with production testing on the numerous wells drilled, but producing bugger all. The company maker at the moment is the company destroyer because of all the capital needed to get the project going. That is where management are poor, they are to eager to get birch going through debt, with pathfinder yet to get on its feet properly and contributing to akk, instead of being a drain
