Sadly, golfie, this is the muck pit we are left to play in. I started so long ago in this game that brokers used to quote their guiding principle: "My word is my bond". Try taking anybody's word for anything these days (in the finance industry) and see how long you have a shirt! But if Carl Icahn says he's shorting the S&P500 why do idiots rush and sell???
