It ain't the Xmen as they have been taken over IMO. That for sure.
And you can't tell me that the company Secretary wouldn't know as to who is buying and selling shares either. And that, IMHO, is even if they don't own 5% of the company when it should be announced to the market.
A Company Secretary would knows exactly who owns what and he/she would even know how many shares you and I own, and everyone else. It is all at his/hers fingertip and, the Share Registry would make sure that he is kept fully aware.
They would even know who are the ones that are lending shares to the shorters (If and when), because the lenders would have to reduce their holdings accordingly and, if it necessary, they would even have to notify the market if their holdings, is reduced by the lending of shares.
A research on certain announcements made by some larger holders, (I.e the NAB and Deutsche Bank to name a few which IMO do that lending of shares a lot), would explain what I mean.
