Every now and again we get some good posts on Yahoo which you all probably read anyway.
nonetheless..a bit from Joe which is interesting I must say.

Many people have seen the 2000 plus BOPD IP rates of the famous mid Bakken wells since 2000, but most of them do not care to see the declined mid Bakken wells after 10 years, most in the 100s. On the contrast, 3-Fork 1st bench wells do not have big IP rates but most of them are steady producers for years to come.
Take SSN Bootleg 4 and 5 wells as example. They were 457 & 330 avg BOPD in early Sept 7-day avg rates, but bumped to 533 & 555 avg BOPD in late Sept, 30-day rates. They are going to be the bread winners.
Bootleg-8 will be a 3-Fork 2nd bench well, to be fracked on Oct 14. It will be another test for Slawson and SSN as the proof of their ability to find this bench.

Besides NSY field, Rainbow field also has a combined 3-Fork 4 benches of approx 150' total pay zone depth. While the Montana FPEC Roosevelt eastern fields would have approx 100' total combined thickness of 3-Fork 4 benches, it is yet to be explored
