In the interest of fully-informed debate, it probably warrants noting that capital markets tend to be forward looking, by some 9 to 12 months, typically, meaning that whatever affect this funding question might have on the share price, will not wait until the last minute.
So, being the pre-emptive beast that it is, bhoulihan, the market will start pricing things in well before they actually happen.
And, in response to” “Looks exactly like the dark days of late 2002 when CSL fell to $4 having been $17”, it is indeed noteworthy that CSL’s market cap at the time (in June 2003) was $1.28bn, almost precisely the same as MSB’s today. (Fascinating coincidence)
The less-than-subtle distinction, however, is that CSL in 2002 generated sales revenue of $700m and made $95m in operating profit.
