as important aspect of Buddhism is missionary work.

however, in Buddhism, it is not proper to teach Buddhism to those that do not request it

this means true Buddhism provides a gift of safety to the world

this is the opposite of other missionary religions, who imperialistically try to impose their religion on other cultures

Buddha taught there are at last three gifts that can be given to the world:

1. material gifts & helpful acts

2. the gift of safety (harmlessness; no fear)

3. the gift of truth (for those who ask)
