Actually your flippant remark "Going underground would be far more costly than blowing the top 40m off Mt Gee" is misleading. For a start Mt Gee dosen't contain the resource and comparing costs of opencut to underground mining are more complex than you imply. If a billion tonnes of overburden needs to be shifted in an opencut operation then it would surely be very expensive, as in AGS's Beverley 4 mile prospect.
