The LAMP and LAMP-alike businesses will find it difficult to survive if environmentally dirty and unsafe RE producers are undercutting price. Thinking optimistically, the Chinese crackdown on illegal RE producers and exporters has a fair chance to succeed this time because their illegal activities are more exposed now due to successful prosecution of many corrupt government officials and businessmen in recent times. My optimism is also based on some broader and relevant reforms (got from news media) that are in the making in China today. Anyway, victims of the unscrupulous RE producers are the environment, the people and Lynas shareholders .... So let's hope there'll be order and stability in the RE business from hereon.
