I must admit I don't get this whingeing about underquoting.
At an auction, the bidders determine the price.
It's a free market, whatever is bid as the final price above the reserve, which has to be declared, then the deal is the deal.
People need to take responsibility for their own actions. Pay too much, and suffer the consequences.
