Geographically, that's the blink of an eye. But our knowledge bank has grown exponentially since then. Our ability to number crunch is now massive.
I was recently at the CSIRO looking at a project they were doing mapping the genome of the lupin. They had a machine which in one overnight session would do analysis which previously [probably in 1975] would have taken 18 months!
But, what you're saying is that science is irrelevant? Whether it's 1975 science, 1875 science or 2014 science...?
If you don't accept science, well, I guess there's religion, hearsay, random opinions, wild guesses, armchair experts, cherry-pickers..... which one are you betting on?
