Further to my earlier post;
An AAP report today says that on October 2nd, a group of ten protesters planned to disrupt question-time that day. The Senate president had been earlier advised that the protesters, - some of whom were men, - would be wearing burkas.
The new rule now is that "all visitors to Parliament will be required to temporarily remove any coverings that prevent the recognition of facial features, so staff can identify them." AAP
The really sinister aspect of the whole story is it took from 2nd October to today 20th October for the real reason for the whole controversy to be published, by AAP. Why did not our ABC publish the news of the protesters' threat on 2nd October? You can be sure that they knew about. And I'll bet that Fairfax knew too.
