That's the issue I feel with the "debate", there is only science and science. There is no "opinions", either the science says one thing or it doesn't.
As a scientist, you will have an "opinion" which you will go and test using scientific method. You will reach a conclusion, you will get your peers to review this conclusion and indeed your whole study. If it doesn't stand up, then your peers will inform you how you have missed vital points of your study. You will be able to correct those then publish them for the world to see.
If your "opinion" is based in scientific fact, then everyone would love to see proof.
If your "opinion" has no basis in science, then people will tell you.
