Certified Australian organic produce - you know where it has come from, and that certain quality standards have been met. Difficult to be sure with many non-organic items, especially those which contain "Australian and Imported items".
You know there are no pesticides, bleaches, waxes, colorants etc. added.
I don't think it is a rip off. There will be higher spoilage and more labour involved, and overall lower volumes hence the higher prices. Try growing your own food. Then you'll realise just how cheap it all really is!
Grass fed organic meat and milk is probably the most beneficial.
