Boys and Girls - Maybe we are being shown a new way of assessing the value of a publicly listed company. I have always thought that looking at the future prospects of a company was the way to reach an investment decision. Taking a new technology and fine tuning it as you go wouldn't appear to add any value to the same technology. Apparently I was wrong - the value is associated with the past mistakes. Looking at the past is clearly the right way of doing it!
