The cattle producers are only part of the damage. Transport operators and their staff, the finance companies that they use, the helicopter companies, and ancillary staff, all were victims as much as the farmers.

But the real victims in many cases were the cattle themselves, condemned to a worse fate than what greeted them in Indonesia. Nothing was achieved by the ban, it was a act of breathless stupidity.
