Hey Moondoong, these wretched scientists are damned if they do and damned it they don't, right?
Damned if they do make precise forecasts about what will happen in the future, which might then not come to pass leaving them open to ridicule from skeptics and know-it-alls, and damned if they don't make precise forecasts so that learned readers, many armed with little more than an opinion, can argue the toss.
Far better to leave the conduct of the whole debate only to those with an opinion, rather than the tentative considered speculation of scientists basing their outlook and view based on nothing more than knowledge and facts, rights?
Really, the main role of the scientists could be likened to little more than a coconut shy at a fairground: a spot of light fun but really there only to be knocked down by any passing Tom, Dick or Harry.
That said, i'll take the view of these educated scientific professionals all day and any day over the rantings of the cabal of HC PhDs (unstarted, unfinished).
All day, any day.
