Anyone noticing the rises in both the NASDAQ biotech index and ASX's own XHJ?
What are people's thoughts on this flowing down to the smaller end of town- the more speculative biotechs?
Whilst there has been some large local biotech failures in recent times there are also some success stories. Good recent article here:

Where has / will the risk-seeking money flow from the mining sector?
IMO the biotech sector will heat up again- maybe not before the end of 2014, but at some point I think the risk money will flow back. A rising tide might lift all boats, but picking the standouts will be tricky. Worth having a look back at the small biotech boom earlier this year, looking at stocks that rose, and fell, but focusing on those which held well over the remainder of the year (not too many!). IMO stocks with an innovative product and / or advanced medical devices may be the standouts:
