"The Dominguez money coming in is certainly a positive to look out for.Would be surprised if his syndicate fronts before some sort of start up scenario coupled with refinancing innitiatives."
Lets look a bit closer at LAF "placement" to Dominguez;
From their release 17/01/06;
"Mr Dominguez also heads a group of international investors who will invest a minimum A$1 million in Lafayette Mining Limited through a placement of 10 million newly-issued shares at 11 cents a share (conditional upon shareholders refreshing the 15% limit following the General Shareholder Meeting scheduled for 25 January 2006) – equivalent to a 1.6% interest in Lafayette Mining Limited. The management team will receive 10.75 million options at an exercise price of 17 cents per share plus 5 million options at an exercise price of 12 cents per share subject to performance benchmarks."
No mention since that the GSM of the 25/01/06 did not oppose the refreshment of the 15% limit so assume Dominguez "placement" confirmed.
(1) Where's the money?
(2) Is it now an open ended "call option"?
(3) Dominguez now involved in highly sensitive coal face discussions that affect LAF's very existence yet is allowed to "owe" a million bucks or defer payment?
(4) Not a word out of LAF regarding Dominguez "placement" and no release to market saying they've been issued.
Seems to me a breach or breaches of corporate governance has happened or are happening here.
If not...then I'm fairly sure I could convince Tubs to go halves with me in the "promise" of another $1mil for a similar open ended call option (oops, sorry..."placement") at 11c so long as we also got all the management options and of course we were offered employment in a position that guaranteed us access to information which would determine whether or not we eventually fronted with the $1mil.
Another classic in shareholder relations from LAF !
