LOL, Dihydrogen monoxide means two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, which sounds an awful lot like H20, ie pure water.

Wikipedia explains the history of the DHMO hoax, and has this to say:

"It illustrates how the lack of scientific literacy and an exaggerated analysis can lead to misplaced fears."
