The news we have all been waiting for is not far away. That I am confident of...

But to chew a little time and out of curiosity I decided to compare AKP’s Share Registry at 31 August to that available at 05 November.

    My findings are as follows:

    THE SELLERS
    • Ignoring a few minor reductions in shareholdings (<5%) as well as changes to Nominee Account shareholdings i.e. regular run-of-the-mill PIs, the notable changes are:
      • Eastech Electronics (TAIWAN) Inc reduced its shareholding from 191,022 to 95,900, a reduction of 50%. Eastech describes itself as “a group of companies specializing in design and manufacturing of audio/video electronics products. Our main products are home entertainment electronics and industrial audio/video electronics”. On the flipside, the company’s website is average at best which makes me think they're probably not such a big deal in the industry and therefore are unlikely to be part of the ‘inner sanctum’ in terms of what’s going on at AKP headquarters. That said, their decision to downsize could be perceived as a slight negative, although we should not ignore the fact they still maintains a significant(ish) shareholding. A reduction by exactly 50% suggests it was more a strategic decision to reduce exposure, rather than a case of them trying to offload their entire holding (in which case I wouldn’t expect the reduction in shareholding to be such a neat, round number).
      • Mr Justin Casey obviously couldn’t handle the heat, so he’s got out of the kitchen… He was previously holding 140,000 shares and was the 29th largest holder, but he has now dropped out of the Top 40 altogether and it’s unknown how many shares he now holds. Chances are he's an investor who has done well and has been sitting on a sizeable profit, but has been spooked by recent price action coupled with lack of news.
      • Emichrome Pty Ltd has downsized its holding from 306,221 to 220,000, a reduction of 35%. This company looks a little dodgy, as there is no information available on the company whatsoever. However, I have noted that the company appears in the top 40 share registry for other companies as well, notably Fortescue (good  going to get into the Top 20 there!) and perhaps more significantly, EOS Creative Technologies – another company affiliated with our man, Fred Bart (also CEO). They still maintain a significant shareholding though, and there’s no way of knowing who is behind the company based on my efforts. I will just assume it is a venture capitalist type company, which needs to rebalance its risk exposure periodically due to having its fingers in numerous pies at any one time.

    THE BUYERS
    • Once again, ignoring changes to Nominee Account shareholdings , there were three notable changes and one semi-notable change:
      • Mr  Leo James Casey + Mrs Frances Mary Casey either have an excess of disposable income and fancy their chances of making some money on an AKP punt, or else have access to some solid information which has given them the comfort of parting with some serious cash to top up their holding from 123,000 to 240,000 shares, an increase of 95%. Assuming they acquiried at an average price of say $10/share in the recent run, they’ve parted with over a million bucks of cold hard cash.
      • Drill Investments has arrived on the scene like a bolt out of the blue and scooped up 100,000 shares to reside at equal 35th in the rankings. Their previous holding at August (if any) is unknown.
      • AND HERE IS THE BIGGY….DRUM ROLL PLEASE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Miss Lauren Bart – possibly a relative of our man Fred Bart(!?) has gone and scooped herself 100,000 shares and now sits at equal 35th in the shareholder rankings! Welcome aboard Lauren
      • Semi notable transaction is Decante adding 20,000 shares to its shareholding to move up to an impressive 403,000 shares held and 13th in the rankings.

The most significant transaction out of all the above, for mine, is the emergence of Miss Lauren Bart in the Top 40.

        Happy to hear other views.

        Regards,
        MattyE
