I wish people would do some research before commenting.
Some of the unsupported claims so far:
- Indians can't afford phones (800 million mobiles in India)
- Indians all use Nokia phones (200 million smartphones increasing at nearly a MILLION per DAY).
- All Indians will have 3G/4G soon (only 31% of Indians live in cities the rest won't have 4G for many years)
- ZIP won't work because domestic calls are very cheap in India (25 MILLION Indians live overseas.)
ZIP is run by extremely experienced telecoms professionals. They would have done a HUGE amount of marketing research before launching.
