Hotazel, I have an MSc in Petroleum Engineering, which doesn't make me an expert, however I also worked about 20 years in the oil business, most of that with Phillips Petroleum, the P in COP. When COP took a share in the Senegal JV I immediately doubled my holdings. I know their attitude to exploration very well. I might be wrong, but I believe that if all support vessels are staying well clear of the rig then they might have hit a gas cap and are preparing to start flaring the gas. Also, the two stopped vessels are both down wind of the rig, one of them a mile off.
