Its more like illegally accumulated capital trying to leave just in case the authorities put up restrictions of foreign funds transfer. It is no big secret that a survey I read estimated 600+ Bil USD has been stashed away outside China over the years.
Even Packer's Crown in Macau has been hit by lower turnover of gambling as the Chinese authorities stamp out the flow of illegally accumulated funds. So I think Skol is curve fitting another negative for the sake of supporting is tunnel view of gold just like Timber is trying to justify the behavior of banksters because they paid big fines and no one went to jail to justify the innocence of fraud.
Nothing goes up forever as pre-GFC has demonstrated so it is a lesson for gold and USD or any asset class.
