There was a really interesting article by Kohler in the Australian today . The gist of it was with the baby boomers nearing retirement ,and this continual bucket of money needing to find a home ,where's it going to go ?? The reality is that the ASX isn't really getting any bigger ,there aren't that many more companies in this country actually making money ,but the amount of money looking to invest is set to double within a fairly short time frame.
He didn't say it ,but I thought to myself ,the market is only so big ,but the funds wanting to go into the market is increasing exponentially .In other words we have an increasing amount of investment funds but ,in this country ,a fairly static capitalisation of the market .
So what's going to happen ?? Is the weight of money going to push good stocks up to silly valuations ,as we've seen with the banks ,or are people going to realise that it's the biggest game of pass the parcel we've ever seen ??
