re: selectors farked up massively
From what I saw,and that was about 20 overs into Sth Africa's innings,the bowling performances of BOTH sides was very average.If Australia had McGrath and Warne they would have won as even a few overs of good bowling would have won this game.
I thought the best thing about the whole match was how one R Ponting took the defeat and put the whole match in perspective by saying that at least it was a good spectacle for the crowd.
However to cricket lovers it was an excrutiatingly bad performance from virtually every bowler as none stood up to the challenge of trying to bowl a restrictive line and length.The only way teams can score that many runs in 50 overs is for the bowlers to be chucking down rubbish and thats exactly what they did.
