After watching the interviews with the worlds leading surgeons from the eacts it seems the world leading valve specialists prefer repair as first choice treatment. The TAVI valves being used at the moment by Edwards and Medtronic are very new with only 2or 3 years data and as the use bovine pericardium these surgeons are expecting problems after 5-6 years and are wary of them. My hunch is the bovine or porcine valves treated with adapt will be the next line of action if repair is impossible as a replacement valve. But this is a year or two away by the looks.
