Yea there is a certain setup of cycles that you get that cause the crash and thus why they all look the same.
Just at the time these cycles can be moving faster then they where in the passed and thus why you get more conjested, short, sharper and duller moves.
The 1837 crash was such an example of the typical pattern happening over a much longer time frame.
