Shares like these are special situation shares. The market volume today is 1.5k which means someone traded $667 worth of shares and the market value of the entire holding dropped from $537 million to $521 million...a $637 trade makes the company market price $16m less..

it does not make sense...

Neither does its listing in Australia but im sure there are very good reasons for this. If they wanted it to be heavily oversubscribed and overvalued they would put the holding company in Malaysia where they have very good following and countless number of institutional investors buying in.

Having said that im sure there are certain tax benefits for having the company structured in Australia...

Australia has conduit foreign income rules under which certain foreign-source income derived by an Australian resident company can be distributed to foreign resident shareholders free of dividend withholding tax under Australian domestic law.

Dividends distributed by a resident company are deemed derived from Malaysia. With the implementation of Single Tier System effective 01.01.2008, single tier dividend will be exempted from tax in Malaysia. However, franked dividend will still be taxable in the hand of the recipient until 31.12.2003. Effective 01.01.2014, all dividends distributed by a resident company will be exempted form tax.

I have to look at the tax structure and set up more but it looks like going thru Australia saves, and makes alot of money...

To answer your question, I think they are already in the right direction by doing capital reductions, share buybacks and dividends until the intrinsic value is in line with the low share price..
