You lefties made excuses that Julia didn't really mean "There would be no carbon tax etc" what she really said was that there would be an ETS and that only a fool wouldn't understand that. And that when Rudd said the carbon tax was dead he too meant that there would be an ETS and that when the goose promised continuously that there was to be a budget surplus, he didn't nominate which decade.
But if I read your post correctly you made excuses for labor, that they never promised not to break promises so it was OK when they did. It is wrong for Abbott because he said he wouldn't. In fact Peter Garrett TOLD us that they would break their election promises in '07. In a QANTAS lounge he told two journalists precisely that. He said words to the effect: We can say what we like during the election, but we won't be bound by it.
