I was interested to know how people were shorting. 'Shorting' used to mean physical sales of stock you don't own, - in Rene Rivkin's day. Then you didn't even need to borrow stock to sell. That had a direct and immediate effect on the price. But other methods like CFDs do not. Technically selling CFDs is not shorting because what you are actually selling is the difference between your selling price and later buy back price.
I think FMG's price is driven a great deal by the high frequency trading and it is a great example of the opportunity provided by volatility. Volatility is the life blood of opportunists.
