I'm selling out of SER. The company does not operate as a 'real world' company, subject to the pressures and expectations of the market place. It relies on grants and has become a cozy refuge for non performing researchers. I've watched their painfully slow 'progress' for years and seen the ever promised technology disappear as a mirage only to re-appear on the horizon. Then a few more grants and it seems close but vanishes again. I see SER as a self indulgent club of researchers who care nothing for shareholders and our expectation that they actually deliver the goods. I can't see that changing but good luck to those of you who are hanging on, hoping for a corporate change of culture. Unfortunately, that will only happen if they are weaned off their comfortable grants and secure tenures.
