I've just been catching up on some business news.

The SMH is reporting that Glencore might be preparing, once again, to have a go at taking over Rio.

So that might explain the resilient performance of Rio in the face of falling Iron Ore prices and other poor metals results.

Rio might do better than some of the other miners today - but that probably won't affect most of the Mining Sector.
