The Barrier process claims to recycle sulphuric acid (H2SO4) and recover metals contained in the waste acidic solutions. It is a sulphate-based technology. It could have application in a sulphuric acid based nickel laterite processing plant
APG's process recycles iron chloride solutions (e.g. spent pickle liquor) and recovers hydrochloric acid (HCl) and iron metal. It is a chloride-based technology, and APG is focused on steel industry wastes.
They are completely different technologies, so Barrier is not really "something of interest" as it is not applicable to the steel industry
