Resources services provider Sedgman Limited (ASX:SDM) has been awarded a $59.8 million contract by Alcoa.

The deal to engineer and construct a filtration plant at Alcoa’s Kwinana refinery in Western Australia is scheduled to complete in April 2016.

Sedgman has been weathering the downturn in the resources sector with a 46 per cent drop in revenue this time last year. However the services provider has recently seen a turnaround in performance with a strengthening pipeline of work into 2015.

The company recently secured a $36.7 million contract with Cockatoo Coal to expand their Baralaba coal mine in Queensland.

Sedgman Limited (ASX:SDM) produced a net loss of $7.7 million for the 2014 financial year.
