Even in the baseball, many batters have been killed by baseball hits on the head or chest.
Interestingly, in baseball, a ball pitched at the batter's head almost always results in all-in melees between the opposing teams.
In cricket though, the players take head-high deliveries for granted.
The rules need to change and the provision of protective equipment is no excuse for allowing dangerous deliveries.
While fatalities are an unintended, rare occurrence, the consequences aren't worth it.
