Somebody needs to point out that to the BHP executives who keep trumpeting on about Maximising Value and Shareholder returns, its not going to happen. Shareholders want to see increases in dividends and well as capital growth. One without the other is pretty damn poor. So as of today anybody who bought into BHP since March 2009 has not made a single 1% of capital gains. Hard to see how they are going to deliver on Shareholder returns with collapsing commodity prices. So much for the greatest commodity boom in history. Shareholders have seen nothing, but a pittance of a little extra dividend.

BHP along with RIO and Vale pull the strings on the supply of Iron Ore. They all depend on it for the vast majority of their earnings. Time to tighten the FE supply into the market IMO.
