qball, ultimately we can blame no one but ourselves. As things stood, the market cap of SDL was already languishing. As you well know this presented problems in regards to dilution when it came to raising the funds that would keep the doors open and the ground work ticking over until capex could be raised. George Jones and co were caught between a rock and a hard place. What else would expect them to do except to go full tilt at selling the story?? They can hardly say to shareholders "I think we're stuffed" and then turn around and ask financiers for 5 billion dollars. It had to be all or nothing. Anyway, this type of "selling the story" is typical. All companies do it. Would you have been upset if a large institution had bought into the story and drove the SP to 20c?? I don't think you would have.

Regardless, right or wrong this is generally how all companies operate. Our job is to read between the lines. On the morning of the EPC announcement I was unfortunately tied up at a formal function and missed the ann. I checked the course of sales later and noted that the market did not gap down but opened at 10c where it had previously closed....however by the time I was able to check the market after lunch the price was already 9c and I took about 3 seconds to make my decision to bail. If the signs were clear for me they should have been clear for everyone. This is market reality. Either you learn to take responsibility and read between the lines or you get cut up and used for crab bait. Don't think I am having a go at you personally because there has been plenty of times that I have held on way too long in other stocks....but I never blamed anyone but myself when I did.
