Gove ceased producing Alumina for one pertinent reason, and one reason only! Energy/Oil costs.. The failure of any Gas supplier to be able to ensure a supply of cost effective gas, and nothing but vague promises re an Oil alternative, was/is the prime reason for Gove ceasing to produce Alumina..
The red dirt is still, as far as I am aware, being shipped out...
