If it were such a straight forward thing for China to lob a bid (any low ball bid), they would have been able to do that anytime in the last 3 months.

They could have gone to SDL (just like they did with AQA), here's the money...it's a final offer...take it or leave it.....and BTW if you resist the TO we will not take any of your ore in future, China will offer no financial support and we will make sure no other Chinese groups will support you or take your ore either.

Only of it were so straight forward for China.
