It astounds me that a junior explorer can even consider such a salary package!
$400,000 is a huge number !
When are the board going to realise that MEO is a junior explorer and NOT an ENI, Exon Mobil or the like.
I always am happy to pay large salaries for success but we are yet to have any success.
Surely a better outcome for shareholders would be a lower salary and higher incentive package? At least that would align the CEO's interest with the sharholders. Or get someone with comparable experience and have a package tailored more to success if they couldnt get Strickland over the line..particularly given the price pressure on oil and gas companies over the last 6 weeks.....the general outlook for the sector is clearly flat to negative.
Yet another questionable act by the Board...
